For many, they grow flowers as a hobby. Then for others, they purchase their bouquets as needed. This means that somebody has to be responsible for producing the flowers that are going to be bought.
Producing Flowers
Most often, the flower growers and the retail florists are kept busy throughout the entire year. Most of this is because the flowers are so popular for special days and occasions.
Valentines Day
Our of all the special days when it comes to the most popular for using flowers as a gift it’s Valentines Day. Some think that chocolates are in the lead for this occasion, but they take second place. It isn’t just any flower that is used to signify this occasion. It happens to be the red roses, simply because they are the flower of love. The traditional gift is one dozen red roses, but there are some who are a bit daring and will go with another colour. For most of the recipients as long as it’s a rose, they are receiving this is most acceptable.
Mothers Day
Another very popular day that is represented by the gift of flowers is Mother’s day. Again because the flowers depict love and appreciation. Only this time it’s not necessarily roses but often a mixed bunch of flowers that include carnations, daisies and baby’s breath.
Weddings
Of course, weddings are at the top of the list when it comes to flowers. Here the cut flowers are transformed into wonder arrangements and can include all different types of flowers. Most are picked according to the theme of the wedding.
Christmas and Hanukkah
It may not be realized that flowers play a significant role on the gift-giving list. Here the flower selection is usually restricted to the winter variety with the poinsettias being the first choice.
